Return to In-Person Worship

Chapel Hillers –

The Covid 19 Task Force wanted to provide you an update on our plans to return to in-person worship knowing you are just as eager as we are to meet again for worship in the sanctuary.   We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we erred on the side of caution to ensure we could protect the church staff and the most vulnerable among us.   We are grateful for your prayers and support for those within our congregation and their families who have been gravely ill with the virus and for their recovery to health.  We are also deeply grateful for the Worship Planning Team and their creativity and intentionality in providing meaningful online worship for us during this time.  God has used our online services to reach many, not only in our backyard, but across the nation and around the world.

We have been monitoring the Sedgwick County data and the current trends are encouraging.   If the numbers continue to decline, and we don’t have an unforeseen uptick in cases due to Super Bowl gatherings or a new strain that adversely impacts our community, we will resume in-person service on Sunday, April 18th and look forward to seeing you there!   Additional information will be coming as the date approaches, but masks will continue to be mandatory as they are now whenever you are in the church facility.   We will be setting up a pre-registration system so we can prepare for the number of guests and have enough services so everyone can worship safely.   Initially, there will be no nursery care, or Sunday School for children or adults; but as we gain confidence in our new processes, we will be adding them as soon as we feel confident to do so.

For those who aren’t ready to return to in-person services, be assured you will still to be able to worship with us online as we continue the important ministry of welcoming all people to share the extraordinary grace and love of Jesus.

In His Service,
