Help Fight Food Insecurity: Support United Methodist Open Door

The upcoming holidays, coupled with the government shutdown and uncertainty around SNAP benefits, mean more families than usual may be facing food insecurity this season. This is a time when our community needs our support most.

Why Donate to Open Door?

While Chapel Hill gathers nonperishable food and clothing for United Methodist Open Door year-round, now is the crucial time to step up. Organizations like Open Door can:

  • Stretch your dollar further than an individual donation.
  • Ensure that every donated item reaches the person who requires it most.

How to Donate:

  • Year-Round Donations: You can place nonperishable food and clothing donations in the wooden boxes located beside the main doors of the church any time.
  • Open Door Turkey Drive: Join Open Door for their annual drive to provide holiday meals!
    • When: Friday, November 21st
    • Time Slots: 9:00 AM – 11:45 AM and 1:00 PM – 3:45 PM
    • Where: Open Door Distribution Center (2130 E 21st St. N)
