“Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.” Mk. 9:50b

On Sunday, Dec. 13th UMYF (Youth Group)

met from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

This was our last official gathering of 2o2o.  SERVE & CELEBRATE was our theme.  In under an hour our youth packed 141 sack lunches for OPEN DOOR.  The lunches were delivered to United Methodist OPEN DOOR (402 E. 2nd St. N. in downtown Wichita) early Monday morning, and they were distributed that same day to help feed our homeless and transition population.  We also discovered our secret elf names–fascinating to discover that you know elves with names like “Peppermint Giggle Toes,” “Cookie Mistletoe Socks,” and “Snowflake Jingle Cakes”!  And, finally we shared a silly “Night Before Christmas” pass around gift exchange and a time of prayer.

   Merry Christmas, to all!

It’s the third week of Advent!

Advent is the beginning of the liturgical year in Western Christianity, and it is the season of preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Christ at Christmas.
