I hope you are all staying warm through this cold and snowy season! Don’t forget that this is the last week for members and currently enrolled KDIC and Preschool families to enroll before we open enrollment to the public on March 1st. I hope you are enjoying the Sunday School videos each week. If you take any pictures or videos of your children worshipping or doing the crafts, please share them with our Facebook group, or e-mail them to me at aroth@chwichita.org. I always love seeing the kids participating in Sunday School activities!
I am enjoying filming a new family each week for the Sunday School videos. If your child would like to be featured in one of these videos, please let me know! I can be flexible with days and times so let me know what works best for your family. I am now in search of children to assist with the February lessons:

If you haven’t checked your child’s information on the birthday post from December 29th, please make sure you do so as soon as possible. I have marked it as an announcement so you can easily find it. Celebrate Wonder is a Sunday school curriculum that engages children’s natural sense of curiosity to help them understand God’s love. It creates a safe environment for kids to ask big questions — helping them explore the Bible in ways that feed their imagination and encourages creativity. Through carefully-selected Bible stories, songs, videos, and hands-on activities, Celebrate Wonder gives children the tools to explore their faith while incorporating it into their daily lives.
Since we are not able to meet in person, I have been mailing Sunday School Kits to families each month with printed lesson plans, activity sheets and craft supplies. If you would like to be added to our mailing list for March, please sign up by clicking the button below. I will also continue to attach digital copies of the material to our weekly e- news for you to print at home if you prefer that option, or missed the deadline.

Bible Story Preview
Mary and Martha welcomed Jesus into their home. It was a custom during this time to care for visitors and to prepare a meal for them. Mary and Martha worked to make Jesus, their guest, feel welcome. However, Mary and Martha each chose different approaches to hospitality. Martha chose to prepare the meal, and Mary sat at the feet of Jesus to listen to his teachings. Martha was frustrated with Mary’s choice. She asked how Mary could just relax and talk while she was doing all the work to prepare for their meal.
Neither sister was doing anything wrong, but they were different. It can be really easy for us to judge people, like Martha did, if they don’t act or respond in ways we think are appropriate. But Martha didn’t realize Jesus didn’t come just for a meal. He also came to have relationship and conversation with his friends.
While we all respond in different ways, it is important to consider intentionality in our responses. We also must realize that if someone’s response is different than ours, it does not mean that person is wrong. Each of us is called to follow Jesus in different ways. What is most important is that we listen to Jesus as a guide in our lives so that we can be faithful and intentional followers.
Spiritual Practice for Adults
Think of someone who might need hospitality this week. Consider how you might help this person. You might send a gift, go for a visit, welcome this person in your home, or be a listening ear. Afterward, reflect on your role and how your hospitality is a gift from God.
Use your reflection to consider how you might offer hospitality to your church family or to your community. Share your ideas with your pastor, and see in what ways you might be able to help.
