Just a reminder that we will be streaming Holy Week services Thursday and Friday at 7:00 pm on our website www.chwichita.org. We will have Easter Sunday services streaming at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00. These services will also be available on our YouTube channel.

- April 25 – “Believers Share” (Acts 4:32-37)
If your child would like to be featured in one of these videos, please let me know! I can be flexible with days and times so let me know what works best for your family.
I always love seeing the kids participating in Sunday School activities! If you take any pictures or videos of your children worshipping or doing the crafts, please share them with our Facebook group, or e-mail them to me at aroth@chwichita.org.
BACK TO CHURCH
Did you hear? We are planning on returning to in-person church services on Sunday, April 18th. We had enough people respond to our initial survey to plan for both a 9:30 and 11:00 service. There will NOT be any Nursery or Sunday School for children at this time, but that is the next phase as COVID data continues to decline, and I am so eager to have CH Kids back in the children’s wing! I will have extra activity bags for the kids to help keep them busy during the service, and I am working with Pastor Jeff on making some family friendly options. Stay tuned for more info!

Vacation Bible School 2021 “Discovery on Adventure Island”

Join us for “Discovery on Adventure Island” VBS at Chapel Hill! We are so excited to gather together for this event this year. Child spaces will be limited to 200 and we will make some other adjustments due to the pandemic, but it is sure to be another great year of FUN learning and worshipping together! We have purchased materials that can be easily used in an online format if numbers show that it is not wise to meet in person. Children of volunteers will be the first to register. If you would like to join our team, please click on the image below to sign-up!

Celebrate Wonder is a Sunday school curriculum that engages children’s natural sense of curiosity to help them understand God’s love. It creates a safe environment for kids to ask big questions — helping them explore the Bible in ways that feed their imagination and encourages creativity. Through carefully-selected Bible stories, songs, videos, and hands-on activities, Celebrate Wonder gives children the tools to explore their faith while incorporating it into their daily lives.
Since we are not able to meet in person, I have been mailing Sunday School Kits to families each month with printed lesson plans, activity sheets and craft supplies. If you would like to be added to our mailing list for May, please sign up by clicking the button below. I will also continue to attach digital copies of the material to our weekly e- news for you to print at home if you prefer that option, or missed the deadline.
March Faith Word

Each month, our weekly stories will align with a Faith Word. The Faith Word for the month of April is, “Share”.

Bible Story Preview
There are differing stories of the Resurrection in the four Gospels. The story in Matthew has Mary Magdalene and the other Mary going to the tomb in the morning. What follows can only be described as wonderful and awe-inspiring.
The tomb was carved out of rock, probably sealed with a large, round stone that rolled in front of the tomb opening. As the women approached the tomb, there was a great earthquake and they saw an angel roll the stone away and sit on top of it. That action alone would have caused me to freeze, but there was more to come.
The angel told the women not to be afraid. The angel said Jesus was not in the tomb. Jesus was alive! “Go and tell the other disciples that Jesus is alive and will meet them in Galilee,” the angel said. In awe and amazement—and maybe fear—the women ran to tell the other disciples what the angel had said. The women were the first to share the good news that Jesus was alive!
But wait! As the women ran down the path, Jesus himself appeared to them. They fell to their knees when they saw Jesus, and he reiterated what the angel had said: “Go, tell the disciples I will see them in Galilee.” A direct command from Jesus to the women, to share the good news with others.
Resurrection can remind us that with each new day there is opportunity to see the goodness and to share that goodness with others. God continues to gives us new life, and this is modeled in the story of Jesus’ resurrection. Resurrection is a hard topic for children and even for adults. However, if we can embrace our wonder about what might have happened, how Jesus’ followers might have felt, and what this means for our faith, we can begin to explore this story in new and amazing ways. Then we can share it with others.
Spiritual Practice for Adults
Find one person with whom you are comfortable sharing your faith story. Share with that person what God has done in your life. Share how God inspires you, the richness and wonder of the Bible stories you love, and how Jesus’ teachings influence your life. By sharing, others will hear of God’s love, and you’ll come away with a richer faith life.
