Hello Chapel Hill Families!
I hope everyone who got to attend church in person this Sunday had a wonderful time! I can’t wait until May when we will have two services and Sunday School again! If you haven’t reserved your spot in church for the month of May, please click HERE. Kids Sunday School Nursery-12th Grade will resume in May, but we only have a limited amount of spots available. Please sign your child up for Sunday School (9:30 ONLY) by clicking HERE. Nursery will be available at BOTH 9:30 and 11:00 services. If you need to change your sign-up, just click the same link to edit, or contact me.

If you haven’t checked your child’s information on the birthday post from December 29th, please make sure you do so as soon as possible. I have marked it as an announcement so you can easily find it. Vacation Bible School 2021 “Discovery on Adventure Island”
Join us for “Discovery on Adventure Island” VBS at Chapel Hill! We are so excited to gather together for this event this year. Child spaces will be limited to 200 and we will make some other adjustments due to the pandemic, but it is sure to be another great year of FUN learning and worshipping together! We have purchased materials that can be easily used in an online format if numbers show that it is not wise to meet in person. Children of volunteers will be the first to register. Celebrate Wonder is a Sunday school curriculum that engages children’s natural sense of curiosity to help them understand God’s love. It creates a safe environment for kids to ask big questions — helping them explore the Bible in ways that feed their imagination and encourages creativity. Through carefully-selected Bible stories, songs, videos, and hands-on activities, Celebrate Wonder gives children the tools to explore their faith while incorporating it into their daily lives.
Since we were not able to meet in person, I have been mailing Sunday School Kits to families each month with printed lesson plans, activity sheets and craft supplies. Since we will return to Sunday School in May, I will NOT be mailing these packets unless a request is sent to Abigail Deiter. We are happy to accommodate those who are still not able to join us in person.

Bible Story Preview
This week’s story is from the Book of Acts. It highlights the way the early Christians worked together for the good of everyone in their community. It says they “held everything in common” by sharing rather than saying, “This is mine!” By doing this, they created a community where no one was needy. They even sold their properties and houses to add to the shared wealth of their community. Their shared resources were managed by the apostles, who distributed them to those in need. This was not mandatory, but people who were able did this to share. Sharing was a way of showing love and friendship. Our Bible verse (The community of believers was one in heart and mind.) comes from this passage of Scripture.
You’ll want your children to know that sharing what you have with those in need is a tradition in the Christian faith. You’ll also want them to know that sharing is something that Christians still do in many different ways, inside and outside the church. It is important that we acknowledge and help children see that many people are in need, but there are ways we can share. This story also lends itself to conversation about the basic needs of all humans and how we assure all of God’s people are cared for.
Spiritual Practice for Adults
This week take time to consider ways you can share the love of Christ with others in non-material ways. This will aid you in helping the children see the ways they can give during your sessions. Can you help a friend, neighbor, or church family member with a chore? Can you spend time with someone who is lonely? Can you make a gesture of love toward someone who doesn’t know Christ? Do what you’re most comfortable with and what makes the most sense in your community.
