Hello Chapel Hill Families!
We had a great time at our campfire sing along fellowship event on Sunday. Mark your calendars for food trucks and an outdoor concert on Sunday, July 11th for Summer Music @ the Hill. Again, all are welcome!
In the month of July, our new Faith Word is BELONGING. This Sunday we will learn about the story of “Babel”(Genesis 11:1-9). Join us!
We will not have sign-ups for 9:30 Sunday School during the Summer due to lower attendance. Come when you can! Nursery will be available at BOTH 9:30 and 11:00 services. No Sunday School at 11:00. We have clipboards outside the sanctuary available for kids attending worship.
Kids will now attend their Sunday School classes according to their grade level for next year. Here are the room assignments for the summer:

Vacation Bible School 2021 “Discovery on Adventure Island”

Join us for “Discovery on Adventure Island” VBS at Chapel Hill! We are so excited to gather together for this event this year. Child spaces will be limited to 200 and we will make some other adjustments due to the pandemic, but it is sure to be another great year of FUN learning and worshipping together! We have purchased materials that can be easily used in an online format if numbers show that it is not wise to meet in person. Children of volunteers will be the first to register. If you would like to join our team, please click on the image below to sign-up!

Celebrate Wonder is a Sunday school curriculum that engages children’s natural sense of curiosity to help them understand God’s love. It creates a safe environment for kids to ask big questions — helping them explore the Bible in ways that feed their imagination and encourages creativity. Through carefully-selected Bible stories, songs, videos, and hands-on activities, Celebrate Wonder gives children the tools to explore their faith while incorporating it into their daily lives.
July Faith Word

Each month, our weekly stories will align with a Faith Word. The Faith Word for the month of July is, “Belong”.

Bible Story Preview
The verse right before this week’s reading says: “These are the clans of Noah’s sons.” At that time, the people (the clans of Noah’s sons) all spoke the same language. They wanted to stay together and “make a name” for themselves, so they built a tower with its top in the sky and a city around it. They built it for their own glory and to keep from being separated. God came down to look at the tower they had built. God wanted the people to learn that they belonged together, even if they spoke different languages and had different cultures and religions. So, God mixed up their language and sent them to all areas of the earth, in hopes they would accept one another in all of their differences. Through God’s love, they could belong despite their differences. People told of the mighty works of God in many languages. With the gift of the Holy Spirit, they spoke of love and shared the living Word.
On Sunday, we begin exploring belonging through spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are attributes for the building up of the whole body of Christ. The use of spiritual gifts provides life and vitality to our communities. By using your spiritual gifts, you are contributing to God’s kingdom. Each person can discover his or her spiritual gifts. When we seek out our gifts, we are given the power to live into God’s call as the Holy Spirit shapes our understanding of ourselves.
Each person has different gifts given by God, and we all belong to God. To belong means all humans are worthy and deserve to be seen, heard, and cared for. True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being part of something and offering your individual gifts to God.

Spiritual Practice for Adults
Everyone is different, but we all belong. Most importantly, we belong to God. This week, consider those who are different from you. Think about your community. Who is missing? Are there people you wish to get to know and include? Pray this prayer:
B – I BELONG
A – We ALL belong
B – We BELONG together
E – EVERYONE!
L – Because in God’s LOVE we all belong.
Amen.
