
Job Summary:
- The Director of Praise Team works in collaboration with the Pastoral Staff and Worship Planning Team to coordinate, plan, and schedule praise music selection for worship service and special events that prioritizes energy and congregational engagement which supports and enhances the services.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and creatively plan with the Pastoral Staff, Praise Team, and Worship Planning Team the praise music which coincides with the upcoming sermon series/themes.
- Direct and equip the Praise Team to support and enhance the worship service by:
- Selecting instrumentalists and vocalists for each service in advance to ensure continuity with worship content
- Consistent communication with musicians and audiovisual sound staff
- Rehearse with Praise Team weekly or as needed
- Work in collaboration with Director of Hill Singers to enhance Chapel Hill’s both/and style of worship and to maintain consistency within teams.
- Prioritize energy and congregational engagement when selecting Sunday worship songs, while supporting the pastoral message whenever possible
- Acquire and propose new music on a monthly basis that is consistent with the theological teachings and leads the congregation toward praising and glorifying God.
- Provide instrumentation as required for Children’s program rehearsals and performances.
- Provide nurturing leadership to the worship team to build strong relationships with one another and in Christ Jesus.
- Work to recruit and develop new praise team vocalists and instrumentalists.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate field experience with a proven track record
- Proficient on at least one instrument.
- Robust knowledge/repertoire of contemporary and traditional music.
