BAPTISM

Baptism is a sacrament. In a sacrament, God uses common elements — in this case, water — as means or vehicle of divine grace. Baptism is administered by the church as the Body of Christ. It is the act of God through the grace of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit.

At Chapel Hill we baptize by the sprinkling of water. Other methods of baptism are also welcomed and you are invited to discuss your preferences with a pastor.

If you are interested in baptism for yourself or a loved one, please contact us at the church office or via our contact page.

We invite you to explore the context and extent of Methodist Beliefs on Baptism.

For more information or to speak with a pastor, please contact us, send us an email to office@chapelhillwichita.org, or call the church office at 316-684-1117.

CELEBRATING HOLY COMMUNION

We participate in Holy Communion because Jesus Christ modeled this meal of thanksgiving, known as The Last Supper.

“For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
1 Corinthians 11:23-26

At Chapel Hill, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at every worship service and deeply believe that the Lord, Jesus Christ, welcomes all persons to His table.

We serve Holy Communion by method of  intinction. When you receive the bread, dip it into the chalice. Gluten-free wafers are available.
